A website for the modern bisexual.

  • Bi porn.

Many years ago — and though it shakes me down to my bones to admit this, maybe even seventeen years ago — a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to have a non-sex cameo in a porn film she was directing. As an adventurous twentysomething, my answer was obviously, “Yes, of course.” I don’t remember…

  • The jealous type.

A few years ago, back when I made the commitment to start prioritizing dating women, to really give things a go, sapphismwise, I had this vision in my head of how things would unfold. I assumed that it was simply my own shyness, my own internalized homophobia and biphobia, that had held me back in…

  • What’s in a label?

This past weekend, Keke “Sorry To This Man” Palmer got a bit personal at the Los Angeles LGBT Center. As Variety reports it: “I’m so grateful to be here today to be embraced by a community that I’ve always felt accepted by and a part of,” the “Nope” star said. “I’ve always been my own person. Sexuality and…

  • Who has it worst?

If you have been in a queer space — and especially if you have been in a queer space as a bisexual — you have undoubtedly been witness to (or maybe even participated in) a conversation that attempts to rank the respective suffering of the various members of the LGBTQ community. The most basic version…

  • Consider the bicurious.

A while back, I saw someone say — maybe on one of those helpful online guides to the wild world of sexual orientation — that “bicurious” is an offensive term. As a one time 1990s teen, a girl who came out in the era of “bicurious” and “heteroflexible” and the like, this struck me as…

  • Bisexuality cannot be proven.

So yesterday I had my little vent about a really bizarre Mashable piece that was ostensibly about “bisexual porn” and the potential problems inherent in it that was actually about how the author feels like threesomes being a porn trope is Bad for the Bisexuals™️. At some point I do want to write the piece that actually should have been —…

A website for the modern bisexual.

In the fall of 2023, I noticed something strange. After a flurry of interest of interest in bisexuality — packages devoted to Bisexual Awareness Week, article after article about how biphobia was real and the bisexuals were, in fact, struggling — Bisexual Awareness Week had once again descended upon us and there was… nothing. No dedicated weeks on any of my favorite sites. No essays rehashing old and new bisexual gripes. Even the pitches I sent in about bisexuality generated little to no interest from editors.

It seemed that the media world was just… done with bisexuals.

And as a frustrated bisexual with a lot of things to say, I decided to do what every writer was doing: I started a newsletter about bisexuality. Welcome to The B+ Squad.

All essays I’ve written on bisexuality — including ones from the project’s Substack era — are on this site. If you’d like to support the project (and get bonuses for yourself, including early access to essays), you can check out my Patreon.
