The B+ Squad

A website for the modern bisexual.

  • There are no M3GAN spoilers in this email.

After three weeks in the theaters and some impressive returns at the box office, the horror comedy M3GAN has solidified itself as a hit — and, as you may have heard, a gay movie. SNL did a digital short with two M3GANs hitting the club, The New York Times did an explainer as to why gay men are losing their minds over…

  • A “loss” of queerness

What does it mean to “lose” one’s queerness? Is it even possible? And if one does “lose” their queerness the way one can misplace, I dunno, car keys, then can one’s queerness be found, be reclaimed? I feel like this is the subject matter of a lot of personal essays about being a bisexual. You…

  • Forever young.

For my entire life, one thing has always been true: the young people, they’re going gay. You can see it in the stats. With every generation, a greater percentage of folks wind up identifying as queer, with bisexuals gaining the most ground. According to Gallup numbers from last year, a full 15% of Gen Z is bi,…

  • Bizarro world.

There’s this phenomenon I’ve been experiencing for the past few years, ever since I got really serious about unpacking and understanding the depths of my internalized biphobia. At one point I might have referred to the experience as “taking the red pill,” but since that metaphor has been utterly ruined by the world’s worst people,…

  • My (bi) wife.

It is a generally accepted fact that any man who wishes to open up his relationship because he seeks sexual novelty beyond his wife but does not want to cheat will soon find that it is his wife, and not him, who is the biggest beneficiary of their new arrangement (doubly so if the man…

  • I watched Bros so you don’t have to.

For the past few months — ever since Billy Eichner had a hissyfit about Bros not doing numbers at the box office — I’ve had this little joke about how I felt legally obligated to watch the movie at some point, about how I worried that if I didn’t watch eventually, Billy Eichner was going to show up…

A website for the modern bisexual.

In the fall of 2023, I noticed something strange. After a flurry of interest of interest in bisexuality — packages devoted to Bisexual Awareness Week, article after article about how biphobia was real and the bisexuals were, in fact, struggling — Bisexual Awareness Week had once again descended upon us and there was… nothing. No dedicated weeks on any of my favorite sites. No essays rehashing old and new bisexual gripes. Even the pitches I sent in about bisexuality generated little to no interest from editors.

It seemed that the media world was just… done with bisexuals.

And as a frustrated bisexual with a lot of things to say, I decided to do what every writer was doing: I started a newsletter about bisexuality. Welcome to The B+ Squad.

All essays I’ve written on bisexuality — including ones from the project’s Substack era — are on this site. If you’d like to support the project (and get bonuses for yourself, including early access to essays), you can check out my Patreon.
