A website for the modern bisexual.

  • I cannot come up with a cutesy headline

Bridget Ziegler is many things: co-founder of the far right group Moms for Liberty (ugh), a Sarasota School Board member, and generally an ultra-conservative terror wreaking havoc on the marginalized people of Florida. She is also — maybe! — bisexual. That latter revelation comes to us courtesy of a weird and honestly pretty gross Miami Herald piece that surfaces…

  • Some thoughts on World AIDS Day

When I was a teenager, I had two very dear family friends — uncles, really, though not by blood. Their names were David and Gary. David and Gary were brought into my life through my mother’s research and Gary’s activism — my virologist mother’s HIV research, which led to HIV advocacy, which led her to…

  • Everyone has a role to play in the Bisexual Revolution

Here’s the thing about me: I’m delusional enough to believe that I can do whatever I want to if I just put effort into it. That’s how I co-launched a bicoastal professional development conference for gender marginalized writers that ran for three years and attracted speakers like Lisa Kudrow, Gina Prince Bythewood, and Jill Abrasion….

  • If a bisexual is single

Here’s a strange thing to think about: over the entire run of writing this newsletter (so, since the end of September 2022), I have been single. And not even just that period: my last serious relationship ended in March 2019, which means the entire time that I have been doing my journey of intellectual exploration…

  • Why are we still so stuck?

A few months ago, while I was hanging out with my brother’s teenage kids, one of them asked me if I thought the 1980s were the best era. (This is, or at least was, apparently a conviction that was popular with their peer group.) “Absolutely not,” I replied, because, lol. The 1980s. Are you fucking…

  • Biphilia is not love

Although I am a person who used to regularly perform in comedy shows and has professional comedian friends, I am not regularly given to watching standup specials (I’m more into watching stuff with a plot). So I did not watch Hannah Gadsby’s Something Special when it dropped this past spring, and only really learned of its contents…

A website for the modern bisexual.

In the fall of 2023, I noticed something strange. After a flurry of interest of interest in bisexuality — packages devoted to Bisexual Awareness Week, article after article about how biphobia was real and the bisexuals were, in fact, struggling — Bisexual Awareness Week had once again descended upon us and there was… nothing. No dedicated weeks on any of my favorite sites. No essays rehashing old and new bisexual gripes. Even the pitches I sent in about bisexuality generated little to no interest from editors.

It seemed that the media world was just… done with bisexuals.

And as a frustrated bisexual with a lot of things to say, I decided to do what every writer was doing: I started a newsletter about bisexuality. Welcome to The B+ Squad.

All essays I’ve written on bisexuality — including ones from the project’s Substack era — are on this site. If you’d like to support the project (and get bonuses for yourself, including early access to essays), you can check out my Patreon.
